If you are like many Scientologists, you became a Scientologist to achieve a lifelong dream. Once you realized your dreams had become a nightmare of invalidation and crush regging, you withdrew your support and then eventually made the decision to become an independent Scientologist or to become a non-scientologist.
Whatever route you have chosen, I commend you for taking your life in your hands and making a decision that will change your life for the better.
If you are like most of us, you probably need to spend some time getting your wits together in a quiet and non-threatening environment. Changing to a non-scientology employer is a good way to find out what life is like in the real world. You will make more money than in a WISE company and you will not be visited by IAS regges at work or be hounded to attend Miscavige events.
You may have to deal with the fact that your Kool-Aid drinking friends will shun you and may try to discredit you with companies and people you have done business with. You may have to deal with a divorce where your spouse and OSA will do everything possible to wring money out of you by making you as wrong as possible.
You will have to steel yourself and rediscover your Code of Honor to handle the avalanche of invalidation you may receive from people you used to trust. They will push every possible button to get you to feel guilty for your “betrayal” of the cult that has been sucking the life out of you for years.
The only way they can impinge on you is if you have not fully completed your Doubt Formula. Once that is done and published widely for all to see, the OSA goons have to resort to broadcasting the contents of your confidential session worksheets and O/W write-ups. This betrayal of trust is infuriating, but the upset can be handled in a few sessions from a professional auditor in the independent field.
Whether you are willing to admit it or not, you have survived a cult experience of some magnitude. You have been exposed to time-honored mind control techniques that have taught you to subjugate yourself to “Command Intention” and have gone into a condition of Treason or lower on the First Dynamic.
Left alone in a non-threatening environment where you can do lots of physical work, you can work out of the trance state within a few years, but the emotional scars remain where they can easily be restimulated by a casual remark that is uttered with no intent to harm. Life in the church leaves you with emotional land mines that will make you cautious about involving yourself with new people and unwilling to try new things because you will never know what is going to create a painful experience.
You have left the cult, but you have not removed the cult from your life. The invalidation and wrong indications you received will affect every relationship from here on out unless you take the time to address the issues that haunt you.
It does not take that long to do a repair action in the independent field. There are more practitioners coming on line every month. Some people are auditing themselves and others are setting up co-audits.
There are many tools available for those who really want to rid themselves of their cult of Miscavige engrams. We will be writing about these in future articles, but if you wish to get started now, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and you will get a response from me or Plain Old Thetan who helps me host this blog.
There is a bright new world waiting for you outside the cult of Miscavige. Give yourself the best possible chance of enjoying your new freedom by running out the painful memories of your Miscavige years.
